Well, what can I say about an organization that refuses to let go. Wild cards, money, fake hype, fake wild card tournaments ("Pre-Qualifying--to "win" a wildcard")--only in America!!!, play college first then turn pro (what a joke) and somehow drawing a correlation with winning a lowly "Super" nationals with getting a wild card into the main draw of the US Open??? Who are we kidding here? These US given wild card(s) into the Open only serve to keep a deserved player from getting their rightful place in the main draw and are pushed out into the Qualies and the Qualie player who deserved to get in by ranking is also shoved out for the lowly US wild card girl or boy or in some cases man or woman. Go directly to the head of the class, no need to pass go. Outrage every other player from other countries who do start at the bottom in the $10,000 Qualies! And we think this is good? Who are we kidding? Sport is sport. You have to win--FAIRLY!. If the USTA truly cared they would put all the Americans on a plane to Croatia, Russia, Portugal, Spain and say earn enough money by passing through the QUALIES of the $10,000's (like the rest of the world is doing) and pay for your own ticket home. You cannot live off of hype, wild cards and big endorsements. Fake? Phony? These words are synonymous with US tennis and the rest of the world is actually laughing at our inflated rankings.

Players from other countries with very modest wild carding, and the smart players turn them down, or at least their parents (father of Marion Bartoli) turned them down for his daughter (knowing it would not help her develop as a champion) thus allowing her to win her way to the top, like most normal people would do anyway.

The USTA keeps all of our "great" players on a wild card I-V drip, as we "bolster" our meager players into the limelight. I for one hope they all get their butts kicked. That is all they deserve. Disgusting!!! And I would kick the collective fat butts of the USTA as well for ripping off our children and depriving them of being able to compete fairly and gain confidence by winning their way to the top!!!

P.S. This discussion does not include Venus and Serena Williams where at 12 years old they cut from the USTA. Richard, gave them college guys to play at 12. They did get some wild cards and cashed in immediately. Actually cashed in from a WC in a $75,000 and never looked back.
